On The Road Again Birthday

Image
Hope everyone is rolling smoothly into summer mode.....  another muggy day today here along the Eastern Coastline of the Carolinas.  And shortly after getting done with my work week, the dark clouds start rolling in and within no time it starts to sprinkle and then storming and pouring down rain like crazy!   Yikes, not even my dog wants to go outside for last call of the evening.   But before I  turn in for the night I want to quickly post another card I did for yet another upcoming birthday this week. I seem to find that there are too many birthdays in the summertime and not enough time to get them all done.  It's really hard to keep up at times, but like always I just keep working away at it and putting best foot forward and get it done.  Like Larry the Cable man would say, "Get 'er done".  Lol.  If my daughter was around, she would say "Oh Mom!" along with an Ugggh in it too.  Lol.    I can't help it I have such a strange sense of humor.  Please for

I tried to use this week's FFF Challenge from the TGF blog and an upcoming birthday.  This week's TGF FFF Challenge is to make my own background.  I decided to use inks--shades of blue and aqua-- with the Waves embossing folder as my background and then used my colored pencils to color the Mermaid Anya and her sea friends which are from Stamp It Up collection. Matted the background paper with shades of plain blue light card stock and finally matted those onto a white cardstock.  The sentiment is a generic one I think from Michael's Store and to give a finishing touch I used white pearls in her hair.  And below is also a photo of the inside of the card minus the sentiment I used for the personalizing it for birthday girl we were giving it to.  So, all for today..... Thank you for stopping in to view my latest creation.  I hope you have a happy, scrappy day!

Green and Yellow BDay

It has been raining and storming on and off all day today.  A great day to stay inside and do some crafting and get a birthday card made for my brother.  Well as you can probably guess, I am originally from Wisconsin....home of the cheese heads, cheese and the Green Bay Packers.  I tried to come up with something really cool for him and with card theme of something he likes......so what better card to make him is a GB Packer card!  He loves the GB Packers and is a big fan of football. I pulled out the Football Ian and Cheerleader Anya.  I colored them up in the team colors.  I tried to come up with something cleaver/cute for a greeting for this card.  On the outside of the card, I put the generic greeting of Happy Birthday.  I had thought about several different layouts and sentiments but I just kept it simple and generic. On the inside of the card, I did up a saying I hope he will find it to be cute and humorous.  The sentiment is "Hip Hip Hurray!  Here is to the MVB (Most Valu

Like I said in previous posting, temps are in the 90s and My Granddaughter and myself are finding some indoor activities during the hottest part of the days.  What better thing to do than to craft up some cards.  Bring it on!  Let Craft Time begin is what KK and I say.  Here is my second post today with another card I recent did.  As you can see, I liked the layout of my other card so much that I had to do same layout for this one too.  I wasn't sure if I could get this one completed because KK kept wanting every single design paper that I wanted to work with.  She is only 4 and a half and is already turning into a crazed crafter and she loves everything she sees and touches, along with taking and collecting whatever design papers she can accumulate in her stash area.  Start them young, right?  Lol.   Speaking of which..... I should post her card too, however, I didn't think fast enough of getting a photo of it before she took it home with her when Mommy came to pick her up.

Double Wishes

Hi everyone!  With the high temps in the 90s, I am finding indoor activities for my Granddaughter and I this week.  I was able to put together several completed cards which I will be posting today,  and the partially done projects I will post later this week or so. As I was putting together this card, I had my Granddaughter, nicknamed KK, all excited with what I was working on and she was cheering me on as I put it together.  It was rather comical and I sure did chuckle with her excitement over it especially because it had nothing to do with her newest craze of Elsa and Anna from Frozen.  Lol.  Well, without further chitchatting, this is my latest creation: Card is done up with several design papers but I am not sure from which collection/series, along with two stamps from The Greeting Farm - CC Riley and CC Madden.  Both stamps have been colored with colored pencils.  The stamped sentiment I think might be something I got while shopping at the local AC Moore Craft Store,

Father's Day Salute

Salute to all those Dads out there!  Trying to put together a masculine card without frills and stuff was challenging today;  I was having a creative block on coming up with something special.  I started going through my collection of stamps and decided upon the La La Land Military Luka and Marci.  These stamps are the ideal stamps for a military salute for that special military man receiving the card.  This is my first attempt of trying to color camo gear.  I am hoping with some practice it will look more like real camo gear; but for today's card it will have to due because I was too far into my project to turn back or start a plan B.  Thanks for stopping in to view my latest creation.  I hope y'all have a happy scrappy day!!

Birthday Sweeties

A quick posting of a card I put together for a little 3 year old's birthday party we attended over the weekend.  Of course, I needed to make sure it was filled with pink and purple.  Since this was for a little girl, I kept this design rather on the simple side with no embellishments and no pop ups.  The stamps used in card are the Double Cupcake Anya - Exclusive, and Birthday Anya II.   I thought it would be cute to use both little girls with their 3 cupcakes.  Both stamps were colored in with colored pencils.  Thank you for stopping in to view my latest blog.  I hope you have a happy scrappy day!

Graduation Day

Image
Thank goodness for the weekend.  I needed to catch up on some much needed things that I did not have time to do over the busy week.   I was in desperate need of a Graduation card for a Niece of ours who would be graduating on Sunday.  So with multitasking at hand..... morning coffee time meet scrapping time.....scrapping time meet morning coffee time.....lol.  Well,  I took a few good swigs of coffee while I attempted to brainstorm up some ideas for a Graduation card.  Hmmm.  What to do.  Cute?  Serious?  Boring?  I decided to make design fitting to the Graduate of the day.  I hope she likes it.  We are so proud of her! Thanks for stopping in to view my newest and latest creation.  I hope you have a happy scrappy day!!

Let it be 3

While having a conversation with a family member, we were talking about shopping for or making cards and the importance of those special cards can be when sending or receiving it for that special someone.  Somewhere within that chat we were talking about an upcoming birthday for their Grandchild who was turning 3 years old.  Of course, like most children and their love for Disney's Frozen, this birthday was going to be a Frozen themed party.  Imagine that....lol.  Several days after this chat we had, I happen to be surfing around online and came across some absolutely adorable Digis of Elsa and Anna from Sassy Studio Designs.  These digis were a must for my crafting library stash!  It's strange how when I see certain stamps/digis I can immediately visualize out a card layout.  Bam!  I had one and I couldn't wait to find the spare time to put it together.      Of course, I am my worst critic and I am not totally happy with its results, but I took the gamble with severa
