Wedding Bliss

Image
Cold weather for this weekend, leaving me with indoor activities. No arguments from me..... it only took a fraction of a second for me to decide it was Crafting Time.  Yes, Yippy, Yahoo!  As I started looking through my stash, I realized I have very slim pickings in the wedding theme department.....Yikes!  I guess it's a great excuse for shopping, right?  Lol.  Note to self to stock up on wedding stuff later.... no time to do it now.  Another note to self is to expand on more Die Cuts instead of having to rely on cookie cutters .  Lol. One tight deadline.  First attempt at making a wedding card.  Two weddings.  Two cards needed ASAP.  And the worst part is I am clueless on wedding colors.  So to keep this short and sweet, here are the two cards I whipped up for the two wedding occasions. and then the second wedding card is: Both cards have a shimmery white pearl type paper used on backgrounds and on inside the cards.  Other colored shimmery paper as well as solid white

Best Buds Birthday

Here is another card I created on this past rainy weekend.  I was in need of making a masculine birthday card up and when I came across this boy and his dog, I knew this would be a great one to send to my brother-in-law for his birthday. The Best Friends Luka stamp is from La La Land Crafts.  Stamp coloring was done with simple color pencils.   Designer papers were taken from the packet of Perfect Vacations Paper Pad from American Crafts except for the solid colored paper which was part of my stash of unknown named papers.  Sentiment is part of a pack of stamps set  I got at Michael's Store and it is done in a light blue embossing powder.

Puppy Love Birthday

Image
Rainy weekend was a great time to stamp up some stamps which I have not yet had time to work with.  I fell in love with this cute little boy and his puppy getting ready to hang a celebration banner.  Cute as can be!  It was driving me crazy that I had not yet had time to do anything with this one yet.    So I took my opportunity and ran with it so to speak....so, here it is....    This stamp is called Puppy Love from The Greeting Farm.  It is colored with colored pencils.  Card layers consist of white cardstock, a design paper from my stash and topped off with the Darice Happy Birthday designed embossing folder.  The embossed background is colored with glitter gel pens.  The picture seems to have a discoloration in some spots that do not appear on the card itself . Or at least not that I could physically see what the camera made it look like.  Oh well what can I say. Thanks for stopping in for a view.  I hope you have a great day!

Here is a fun card I put together this past weekend.  Rainy weekend is great time for some much needed craft time!  Well it kept me out of trouble too.  Lol.  I didn't want this no sun weekend to be a no fun theme for my card.....so when I happened to come across this little guy it brought a smile on the face.  This little guy is great for a Fun in Sun kind of card.  This little guy is Summer Luka from La La Land Crafts.  Stamp is colored with my colored pencils.  Background is a Darice embossing folder titled  Palm Tree and Wave which was also colored in with colored pencils and a bit of odorless mineral.  Embellishment is something I got at Michael's but cannot recall packet nor company name it's from.

Under The Weather

I had an opportunity over the rainy weekend to work on some cards.  Gotta love those rainy days for indoor activities.....makes for a great excuse to put in some crafting time.  Rain, rain and more rain.....what better time than to make a card with a rainy theme and then combine it with a get well theme to make  a great themed card for someone special who just gone through with a major back surgery.  Ouch!  Even just saying or writing it makes it sound painful.  Yikes!  I cannot even imagine what its like to go through that type of surgery.  God bless those that have gone through that.  I love the La La Land Crafts!  I am addicted to those cute stamps.  I chose to use Marci With Umbrella stamp and colored it with colored pencils.  Some areas were blended with some odorless mineral.  I had found some pretty in pink polka dotted design paper that I thought might make a cute colored rainy affect for this card.  I thought the flowered design paper might make it look like she is in a fl

Spooky Greets

Hope every one's Labor Day Weekend was good.  I had a quiet weekend and took advantage of the down time by making up some Halloween cards for my Grandchild to use to give everyone in her class.  I set up an assembly line, and went to town so to speak, to kick out some simple spooking cute cards.   I will show all the samples just because I could not really pick the spooking cutest one to post this morning.  Without rambling on and on, here is my latest creations.  I hope you like them. All the following stamps are part of a Spooky Stamp Set from The Greeting Farm. The sentiment stamps are also part of the Spooky Stamp Set.   Aren't they spooking cute?!?!?  Stamps are colored with color pencils.  Design papers are from My Minds Eye's Every Day Tango and Heidi Grace Designs' Candy Corn/Jeepers Creepers paper, along with some other papers and colored cardstocks that I had in my stash collection.  Embellishments are alittle bling on the first card, Trick or Treat

Country Girl Birthday Greetings

Image
I have one more to share with you today that I completed while taking advantage of indoor activities due to such wet weather conditions outside.   Birthdays galore for this month.  Yikes!  So here is another small sized birthday card I put together to send out to a dear friend of the family who shares a birthday on same day as my Granddaughter.  I wanted to use polka dots because it had special meaning to it, as well as the colors of yellow and green too.   I knew that if I used those elements mentioned it would bring a smile as well as a giggle regarding the meaning and story that goes behind it.   And to add to special messages, I made it a blonde and blue-eyed country girl which would make it even more special meaning to it. So here is the creation I came up with ........ Card is a smaller sized card of yellow textured cardstock which was embossed with a Darcie embossing folder, and a design paper for background elements.  I then used two other design papers to paper piece ont

The Party Girls

I just love the AI's Girlfriends series of stamps.   What better time to stamp one out and color it up for a BFF's upcoming birthday and to make it even better timing was the fact that it was bad weather that called for indoor activities.   Hip, hip hooray!!  Lol.  Card is made up of white cardstock, and lightweight pink cardstock.  The background is made up of two Darci embossing folders.  Stamp is Art Impression's Girlfriends Series named Party Girls which I colored with colored pencils and used glitter clue as embellishment.

Retro Birthday Wishes

Image
HI everyone.  It been a rather wet weekend, so I guess it makes it perfect for some card making I needed to do for several more birthdays both past and present.  I am first posting the past birthday that I somehow forgot to get a card out to a girlfriend who was turning the big 50.  I was stumped on what to make her for this special birthday....... cute, funny, or ...... hmmm uncertain on what I wanted it to be.  I started going through some of my stamps and ran across one that kind of jumped right out at me...... almost a pick me, pick me  kind of thing.  lol.   The stamp of choice is the La La Land Retro Marci.  Yep, right then and there a plan came together and I went for it.  I stamped up the Retro Marci and started coloring away with the colored pencils.   While sitting back, relaxing and coloring away,  I gave some thoughts on what it was I wanted the sentiments to be on this belated card.  I decided on the inside of the card about this card being fashionably late. So here is th

I love the humorous stamps of AI stamps.  When I saw the AI Girlfriends Beauty In Progress stamp set, I knew it was a must to add to my stamp collection.   I have several family members which this would make a great card for.  I had a lot of fun to try to find some fun design papers to use with these gals.  I hope you like my latest creation.  The stamp is Art Impressions Girlfriends Series - Beauty in Progress.  The sentiment is also from the Beauty in Progress Set.  Design papers are from my stash and I know these came out of a large packet I bought but I do no know manufacturer and had taken off labels when I first purchased it.

Country Birthday

Hi to all.  I can't believe it is already the middle of August.  Wow, time sure does fly by!  My Granddaughter and I had to get in some much needed craft time before school starts up again.  We have quite a few birthdays for the month of August, so we had alot to keep us busy for our  crafting time.  We are practicing with some new markers to see how we like them.  I kept the card rather simple.  The card is made up from two different design papers, the little girl stamp is from The Greeting Farm - the You're Wanted stamp set.

Let The Good Time Roll

Image
Last week, I forgot to post the second layout I did along side of the other one....  I needed to have several in a  short period of time and so I used some of the same stuff yet slightly different from one another.  So I wanted to post this one too....  So to keep this short and simple  the stamp used is a stamp called Outlaw Luka from the La La Land Crafts Company. As usual, I colored with colored pencils.   I used several different design papers from my stash so I am uncertain as to which paper company they are from.  I used the Cuddlebug Happy Birthday Embossing Folder.  For the finishing touches of card, I colored some of the embossed words in with  two glitter green glimmer gel pens.  I used a Happy Birthday Ribbon from Martha Stewarts Crafts.  And lastly I put several large and small Brads from Recollections Company.

On The Road Again Birthday

Hope everyone is rolling smoothly into summer mode.....  another muggy day today here along the Eastern Coastline of the Carolinas.  And shortly after getting done with my work week, the dark clouds start rolling in and within no time it starts to sprinkle and then storming and pouring down rain like crazy!   Yikes, not even my dog wants to go outside for last call of the evening.   But before I  turn in for the night I want to quickly post another card I did for yet another upcoming birthday this week. I seem to find that there are too many birthdays in the summertime and not enough time to get them all done.  It's really hard to keep up at times, but like always I just keep working away at it and putting best foot forward and get it done.  Like Larry the Cable man would say, "Get 'er done".  Lol.  If my daughter was around, she would say "Oh Mom!" along with an Ugggh in it too.  Lol.    I can't help it I have such a strange sense of humor.  Please for

I tried to use this week's FFF Challenge from the TGF blog and an upcoming birthday.  This week's TGF FFF Challenge is to make my own background.  I decided to use inks--shades of blue and aqua-- with the Waves embossing folder as my background and then used my colored pencils to color the Mermaid Anya and her sea friends which are from Stamp It Up collection. Matted the background paper with shades of plain blue light card stock and finally matted those onto a white cardstock.  The sentiment is a generic one I think from Michael's Store and to give a finishing touch I used white pearls in her hair.  And below is also a photo of the inside of the card minus the sentiment I used for the personalizing it for birthday girl we were giving it to.  So, all for today..... Thank you for stopping in to view my latest creation.  I hope you have a happy, scrappy day!

Green and Yellow BDay

Image
It has been raining and storming on and off all day today.  A great day to stay inside and do some crafting and get a birthday card made for my brother.  Well as you can probably guess, I am originally from Wisconsin....home of the cheese heads, cheese and the Green Bay Packers.  I tried to come up with something really cool for him and with card theme of something he likes......so what better card to make him is a GB Packer card!  He loves the GB Packers and is a big fan of football. I pulled out the Football Ian and Cheerleader Anya.  I colored them up in the team colors.  I tried to come up with something cleaver/cute for a greeting for this card.  On the outside of the card, I put the generic greeting of Happy Birthday.  I had thought about several different layouts and sentiments but I just kept it simple and generic. On the inside of the card, I did up a saying I hope he will find it to be cute and humorous.  The sentiment is "Hip Hip Hurray!  Here is to the MVB (Most Valu

Like I said in previous posting, temps are in the 90s and My Granddaughter and myself are finding some indoor activities during the hottest part of the days.  What better thing to do than to craft up some cards.  Bring it on!  Let Craft Time begin is what KK and I say.  Here is my second post today with another card I recent did.  As you can see, I liked the layout of my other card so much that I had to do same layout for this one too.  I wasn't sure if I could get this one completed because KK kept wanting every single design paper that I wanted to work with.  She is only 4 and a half and is already turning into a crazed crafter and she loves everything she sees and touches, along with taking and collecting whatever design papers she can accumulate in her stash area.  Start them young, right?  Lol.   Speaking of which..... I should post her card too, however, I didn't think fast enough of getting a photo of it before she took it home with her when Mommy came to pick her up.

Double Wishes

Hi everyone!  With the high temps in the 90s, I am finding indoor activities for my Granddaughter and I this week.  I was able to put together several completed cards which I will be posting today,  and the partially done projects I will post later this week or so. As I was putting together this card, I had my Granddaughter, nicknamed KK, all excited with what I was working on and she was cheering me on as I put it together.  It was rather comical and I sure did chuckle with her excitement over it especially because it had nothing to do with her newest craze of Elsa and Anna from Frozen.  Lol.  Well, without further chitchatting, this is my latest creation: Card is done up with several design papers but I am not sure from which collection/series, along with two stamps from The Greeting Farm - CC Riley and CC Madden.  Both stamps have been colored with colored pencils.  The stamped sentiment I think might be something I got while shopping at the local AC Moore Craft Store,

Father's Day Salute

Image
Salute to all those Dads out there!  Trying to put together a masculine card without frills and stuff was challenging today;  I was having a creative block on coming up with something special.  I started going through my collection of stamps and decided upon the La La Land Military Luka and Marci.  These stamps are the ideal stamps for a military salute for that special military man receiving the card.  This is my first attempt of trying to color camo gear.  I am hoping with some practice it will look more like real camo gear; but for today's card it will have to due because I was too far into my project to turn back or start a plan B.  Thanks for stopping in to view my latest creation.  I hope y'all have a happy scrappy day!!

Birthday Sweeties

Image
A quick posting of a card I put together for a little 3 year old's birthday party we attended over the weekend.  Of course, I needed to make sure it was filled with pink and purple.  Since this was for a little girl, I kept this design rather on the simple side with no embellishments and no pop ups.  The stamps used in card are the Double Cupcake Anya - Exclusive, and Birthday Anya II.   I thought it would be cute to use both little girls with their 3 cupcakes.  Both stamps were colored in with colored pencils.  Thank you for stopping in to view my latest blog.  I hope you have a happy scrappy day!

Graduation Day

Image
Thank goodness for the weekend.  I needed to catch up on some much needed things that I did not have time to do over the busy week.   I was in desperate need of a Graduation card for a Niece of ours who would be graduating on Sunday.  So with multitasking at hand..... morning coffee time meet scrapping time.....scrapping time meet morning coffee time.....lol.  Well,  I took a few good swigs of coffee while I attempted to brainstorm up some ideas for a Graduation card.  Hmmm.  What to do.  Cute?  Serious?  Boring?  I decided to make design fitting to the Graduate of the day.  I hope she likes it.  We are so proud of her! Thanks for stopping in to view my newest and latest creation.  I hope you have a happy scrappy day!!

Let it be 3

While having a conversation with a family member, we were talking about shopping for or making cards and the importance of those special cards can be when sending or receiving it for that special someone.  Somewhere within that chat we were talking about an upcoming birthday for their Grandchild who was turning 3 years old.  Of course, like most children and their love for Disney's Frozen, this birthday was going to be a Frozen themed party.  Imagine that....lol.  Several days after this chat we had, I happen to be surfing around online and came across some absolutely adorable Digis of Elsa and Anna from Sassy Studio Designs.  These digis were a must for my crafting library stash!  It's strange how when I see certain stamps/digis I can immediately visualize out a card layout.  Bam!  I had one and I couldn't wait to find the spare time to put it together.      Of course, I am my worst critic and I am not totally happy with its results, but I took the gamble with severa

Summer Love

Image
June is right around the corner.....wow!  It will be my 1st anniversary of being in card making and blogging worlds.  Yeah, yahoo!  I hope this next year will be just as much of a blast as the first year has been.  So I guess to end my 1st year, I would enter my newest creation into The Greeting Farm's FFF Challenge of Summer Love.  The camera and lighting did not seem to pick up the full colors of this card.  The upper embellishment bling should be same pink as those on lower portion of card.  I found a cute 3D flower to add to her hair that went great with those background flowers.  This card is done with The Greeting Farm stamp called the Geisha Anya which is colored with colored pencils.  A flower Spellbinder die cut used.  Stamped background was also colored with colored pencils.  Pink and brown colored card stock.  I also then  ribbon with same colors looked like a good choice to add to card too. Thanks for stopping in to view this post.  I hope you have a happy scrappy

Happy Mother's Day

Image
Wow!  Can you believe it's already the middle of May and in the midst of celebrating Mother's Day?  Amazing how time can fly by  so quickly!  My Oh My!  Well as you can tell I had enough spare time this past week to do some what I like to call some "power scrapping".....lol.  Here is another Mother's Day card I put together for a special someone.  Supplies used on this are white card stock, three design papers,  a flower embossing folder lightly colored in with colored pencils, Martha Stewart Heart punch, Super Secret Stamp Club's Series is 005-Beauty which has been colored with colored pencils.  Sentiments are from SP & Company and Recollections which are done in Rhubarb colored ink.  Ribbon, and pearls are from Michael's Store.

Bright and Shiny Birthday

Image
Besides the normal busy work week and regular routine stuff to do, this weekend is filled with special events of multiple birthdays and Mother's Day celebrations.  Whoop, whoop.  This is a quick post to show another birthday card made for a family member's birthday.  I tried to keep it rather on the simple side so the beautiful background paper could shine and be admired for all its beauty.  Hope you like it...... Supplies used for this card are white card stock, purple card stock, two different design papers, the Super Secret Stamp Club's Series named Hood from The Greeting Farm.  Hood is colored with color pencils.  Sentiment is done by a Martha Stewart Punch, and the clear with purple design inside embellishments to add a bit more bling to this shiney card. Thanks for stopping in to view my latest creation.  I would like to wish you a happy scrappy day!

Gone Fishing

Image
One Saturday while out shopping around on some local Garage/Yard Sales, I came across scrapbook and card making supplies.  What a find and awesome haul it was!  Too much to list out but well over $175.00 worth of stuff for only $20.00.  I'm excited and I had my eye on several little things I knew exactly what and for whom it would be for.  This past weekend, I had to put together a card for a dear friend of ours birthday.  Per the card, you can fairly guess what his favorite past time is fishing.  One of the packets of the yard sale haul happened to have an outdoors' man type of theme and in it was this stuff for fishing which I think made the ideal card for our friend.  I'm hoping he likes it. Thanks for stopping in and viewing this......I hope you like it. All the design papers and stickers for this card were within a packet from Memories Collection from the Ever After Scrapbook Company.  Stamp is La La Land's Fisherman Luka which is colored with colored penci

Frozen In Time

Image
I was shocked at how effortless this card all came together.  One day after school,  my Granddaughter KK and myself were stamping and coloring up some new stamps I had gotten in the mail.  One of the stamps we were working with was the Super Secret Stamp Club Hooded.  I started coloring the Hooded girl and before I know it, KK is commenting that its reminding her of Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen.  She gave me a great idea and I ran with it....Frozen theme....Hmmm.  It did not take me long to think up something, and I knew exactly what paper I wanted to use and then started digging through my embellishment supplies to find something closely related to frozen theme. Got to just love it when the creative process just flows smoothly.  So, here is the finished card.  I hope you like it and thanks for stopping in to take a look. Card is made up of White card stock, several pattern papers, the embellishment buttons and strips with snowflakes are from my supply, clocks are from an embos

Red Hatter Mother's Day

Image
Mother's Day is almost upon us.  Yikes!   I have been trying to think of something that would be rather on the unique side instead of what I always seem to lean towards for a Mother's Day greeting card.  I happen to come across some paper that jumped out at me and I thought it might just work at making this the most unique card yet.  Well, as you can see by the theme of it, my Mom is a Red Hatter.  I am hoping she will like it as much as all the other more traditional cards I usually give her.  So here is the creation I came up with for a unique and out of the ordinary Mother's Day card.... Several different pattern papers of the Red Hat collection by K&Company, stamp is Marci from the La La Land Company, embellishments, colored pencils used to color Marci.

Happy Easter

Image
This post is going to be short and sweet with a quick post.  I did a card that I experimented with two things......trying to get hair look with color pencils, and also playing around with designed ribbon that I wanted to share with everyone.  In this card I used 4 designed papers (normally I work with three), but I thought since designs on several of them were tiny designed it would be ok.  I used the Marci Easter Bunny stamp and colored it with my Crayola colored pencils.  The other supplies of the Happy Easter ribbon, zig-zag bling, the clear bling and flowers are from Michael's and AC Moore Stores. Thanks for stopping in to view my blog.  I hope y'all have a happy scrappy crafty day!

Birthday Princess

Image
I am trying to squeeze in some much needed "crafty me" time to get some much needed cards done for upcoming holiday and birthdays.  It seems like I missed several birthdays already this year, so my average of being prepped and organized is not looking so great at this moment in time.  Oh well, I never said I was perfect.  LOL.    My Granddaughter KK stayed overnight last night, so we spent several hours coloring and crafting up some thoughts on card layouts and putting the plans into action and glued down.  So, here is my newest creation I threw together during our latest crafting venture...  As you can see my creativity was fizzing out by the time I was trying to put together something for the inside of the card.  Of course, my granddaughter thought this was the best design of several that I was playing around with, so I decided to go with her pick and roll with it.  Brown and pink card stock, three different design papers used, greeting stamps are from Recollections

Celebration Blast!

Image
I feel very flattered to have been asked to make a birthday card and specializing it to their needs of what they wanted in a birthday card.  So, of course, I had to take on the challenge and hopefully make someone's day for their Dad's special day to celebrate 80 wonderful years young, as well as putting a smile on Dad's face when seeing his specialized one-of-a-kind card. I felt slightly challenged with trying to put together a masculine card.  I also felt a bit challenged with what was I going to do without having the photo that she wanted to include in card.  So I decided to make a frame for photo and enclose instructions and several glue dots for her to add the photo to frame and then attach it in card. Here is my creations that I am mailing out and hope this meets the requirements that the order specified.  Can I complete the challenge with flying colors?  I guess I will have to wait till its received and reviewed.  Hope y'all like it too....Thanks for stopping i

Birthday celebrations

Image
I have been having a crazy schedule and not finding much spare time for card making. I knew there was a special birthday coming up in which I wanted to make sure I had a card for.  But all of a sudden, the day is upon me and I still haven't start it.  The pressures of last minute make me go crazy and I find myself very unproductive and non-creative.  I surprised myself with what I put together considering I could not find much creativity sparks in me today.  I had my heart set on using the Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamps, and then found some papers I liked in my stash with some green in it.  When I think of March, I automatically think green.  Of course a girl's birthday must have some pink in it regardless of who or what age.....so pink it is.  LOL.  Yumi and Fumi stamps are colored up with colored pencils, and added a couple of stickers within my stash ....and  Ta Dah......So, here is my creation......Hope you like it......

Sweet On You

Image
I had to take time to take part in the last challenge over at Yumi and Fumi Handmade.  I had a great time trying to put something together on what spare time I had before Challenge # 30' time was up.  So I put together some design papers that I bought at Michael's Store along with some cute and festive ribbons, the heart shape was done with a cookie cutter I had. lol.  I did the Yumi and Fumi Handmade stamps with colored pencils.  Thank you for stopping in and taking a peak.  I hope you enjoy it and hope it may be inspiring too.

Out Of This World

Image
It's been awhile since my last posting.  Over the holidays I got the dreaded phone call that no one ever wants to get about a loved one dying.  I quickly headed out of state to be home with family during the sorrowful time of burying a loved one.  I just recently got back into town and am getting back into the swing of things again.....so since I had a quiet weekend, I took advantage of doing some card making and craft work for some much needed therapy.  I decided to come up with something for the TGF Challenge of the Red, White and Blue.  So here is my creation to be used for the TGF Challenge.
